UTRGV Messenger Guidelines for Approvers

If you have been designated as a UTRGV Messenger Approver, you will approve all submissions to the UTRGV Messenger according to your division/department.

Before any posting can go live, the Approvers will review the post for accuracy and compliance with UTRGV policies and state and federal laws.

UTRGV Messenger Approvers have the right to edit or reject the submissions.

Before approving a post, the Approver should look for the following:

  • Spelling or grammatical errors
  • Prohibited content and images include profane language, slanderous remarks, political or social commentary
  • Self-promotion
  • The soliciting of bids or selling of products for personal or outside group profit
  • Any other type of message not related to university business or events

These types of postings should be edited or rejected by the Approver.
