Map Network Drive for File Shares

Windows 7

  1. Open Windows Explorer (file explorer
  2. If the menu is not displayed, press the Alt and t keys Simultaneously.
  3. From the Menu, click on Tools and select Map Network Drive.
  4.  Select the desired drive letter and enter the path (see table below) into the Folder field.
  5. Select reconnect at login.

    • If you are logged into your computer with a legacy account (UTPA/UTB-TSC account), check Connect using different credentials.
  6. Click on the Finish button.
    • If you checked “Connect using different credentials," when prompted, enter your full UTRGV email address and UTRGV password.)

Windows 8 

  1. Open Windows Explorer (file explorer). 
  2. From the ribbon, click on Computer and select Map Network Drive
  3. Select the desired drive letter and enter the path (see table below) into the Folder field. 
  4. Select reconnect at login.
    • If you are logged into your computer with a legacy account (UTPA/UTB-TSC account), check Connect using different credentials.
  5. Click on the Finish button.
    • If you checked “Connect using different credentials, when prompted, enter your full UTRGV email address and UTRGV password.

If unable to connect, kill Kaspersky app!

Map every folder separately.

Mac

  1. Click on the Finder icon from the dock at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Click on the Go menu from the finder
  3. Select Connect to server
  4. Enter the server address/as smb://YourServerPath
    • If you plan to access this path on a regular basis, you may with to click on the plus symbol to add it to your list of favorite servers. 
  5. Click the Connect button
  6. When prompted, enter your full UTRGV email address and password.
    • Unlike Microsoft Windows, Macs do not have the option to re-mount the disks after restarting the computer. However, the Server addresses can be saved as favorites, by clicking the plus (+) sign on the "Connect to Server..." window.
