Charreada

Charreada at UTRGV & TSC 2017

A cultural celebration in partnership with Texas Southmost College, Mr. Amigo Association, Charro Days Inc., and Sombrero Festival.

The Charreada is an event established as a UTRGV tradition in 2016 to celebrate Charro Days, Sombrero Festival and Mr. Amigo festivities  The week-long fiesta takes place from Feb. 19-25 and celebrates friendship between the sister cities of Brownsville and Matamoros. Since the 1960’s, the Brownsville campus has been one of the stops to welcome Mr. Amigo. This year, UTRGV welcomes Texas Southmost College (TSC) to share and collaborate in the 80th celebration and together we will welcome Mr. Amigo, Fernando Landeros Verdugo, to our campuses.

You will also able to follow the live tranmission of the event.
