Welcome to the UTRGV family. As a newly hired employee, there are a few steps to take before you begin work. If you have any questions about these steps or your On-Boarding process, please contact any of the Human Resources offices.

Before you start, there are some steps we’d like you to complete to ensure your first day is smooth. |
On your first day, you will attend a New Employee Orientation. You will be introduced to our UTRGV culture, learn about benefits and retirement, training and compliance, as well as information security and complete required paperwork. |
Orientation continues with items to complete in your first few weeks and months of employment. |
On-Boarding Coordinator will contact new hires to schedule orientation. To ensure employment is processed properly, visit and follow the next milestone steps.
Before your First Day
To ensure your employment is processed properly, follow the next steps before your first day at work.
Complete, sign and return the following forms to hr@utrgv.edu
- Biographical Information Form
- Certification of State or Public School Employment
- Selective Service Registration Form
- Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability
- Prior State Service
Complete Online:
- I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification
- Note to bring original and unexpired documents for I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification purposes to the Office of Human Resources.

Orientation Day
The new employee orientation is designed to introduce you to UTRGV; acclimate you to the university's culture, mission and values; help you quickly complete operational requirements; and, successfully transition you into your new role.
Day Two & Beyond
We hope you found your orientation valuable and that you are feeling supported and productive in your new role. Orientation isn't over now that you've completed your first day; it is ongoing. There are additional action steps you need to complete as you fully transition into your new role at UTRGV.
