Thank you for participating in UTRGV’s Annual Enrollment for Benefits

The opportunity to make benefit changes during Annual Enrollment ended
on July 31, 2017. 
Any benefit changes made will be effective September 1, 2017.

New for the 2017-2018 Plan Year:

  • Effective 9/1/2017, dependent children will be eligible for dependent-level coverages (Medical, Dental, Vision, AD&D, and Life) up to the end of the month in which the dependent turns age 26.  If your dependent child was dropped from optional coverages (Dental, Vision, AD&D, and Life) you may re-enroll them during Annual Enrollment (evidence of insurability (EOI) may apply for Life insurance coverage).
  • New medical insurance ID cards will be reissued (Prescription, Dental and Vision ID cards will remain active for the 2017-2018 Plan Year)
  • The maximum Flex Health Care Reimbursement Account (HCRA) election for 2017-2018 allowed by the IRS has increased from $2,550 to $2,600.  The maximum Flex Day Care Reimbursement Account (DCRA) election remains unchanged at $5,000

Keep These Important Dates in Mind         

  • August 15, 2017 - Deadline for submitting Evidence of Insurability (EOI) forms for Disability insurance and Voluntary Group Term Life insurance
  • August 31, 2017 - Last date to incur eligible Dependent Care (DCRA) expenses
  • September 1, 2017 - Effective date for coverage elected and approved during Annual Enrollment
  • November 15, 2017 – Last date to incur eligible expenses for the Healthcare            Reimbursement Account (HCRA) to use up funds in your 2016-2017 account
  • November 30, 2017 – Last date to file claims for both the HCRA and DCRA to request reimbursement for expenses incurred between September 1, 2016 – August 31, 2017
