About Us

The Facilities Planning and Operations department is committed to providing outstanding services to the campus community.  Services include the following: 

Facilities Planning and Construction 
The Facilities Planning and Construction department coordinates the planning, design and construction of new facilities, existing space renovations and space repurposing on all university campuses and leased facilities. All planning is based on the current campus master plan to best accommodate space demands in conjunction with future growth of the physical environment.  To support equitable and efficient space development, the department follows and maintains building construction standards as well as standards for interior finishes and furnishings.

Campus Facilities Operations
The Campus Facilities Operations department provides academic support services to the university community. Our mission is to maintain the most hospitable and aesthetically pleasing campus environment through teamwork and professional services that focus on customer satisfaction. Our services consist of various trades groups and routine maintenance activities that guarantee facilities will be in optimum operating condition for the delivery of education and research programs. Campus Facilities Operations consists of the following areas:

  • Central Scheduling/Business Services: Service calls, routine and non-routine work requests, and warehouse operations
  • Energy Management and Utilities: Maintain the chill water system, track and forecast energy consumption, and monitor utility costs
  • Trades: Custodial services, grounds maintenance, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, locksmiths, preventative maintenance crew, general services and vehicle fleet management

Real Estate and Space Management

The Real Estate and Space Management department coordinates and manages all real estate transactions including building leases for the university. Another important area of responsibility is the management and scheduling of all non-academic space requests of university owned and leased spaces.  All space use requests should be submitted via the Ad-Astra scheduling found on the website.
