Welcome to the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders within the College of Health Affairs at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. The Department offers an undergraduate program leading to the Bachelor of Science degree and graduate program leading to the Master of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. The undergraduate and graduate programs together enroll approximately 100 students majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders.
The master’s education program in speech-language pathology at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, 2200 Research Boulevard, #310, Rockville, MD 20850, 800-498-2071 or 301-296-5700.

The Department manages and staffs the Speech and Hearing Center, which houses the speech-language and audiology clinics, which are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for providing a wide variety of speech, language, and hearing services to clients of all ages.
