This research program primarily deals with the ecology and conservation of aquatic organisms, particularly fishes and principally in Texas and the desert southwestern United States and northern Mexico. The underlying research questions have been how have the adaptations of fishes been responsible for their great diversity and how can we conserve these in an ever changing world?
